3 Breathing Exercises for Relaxation and Stress Relief

It is without a doubt that most of us are living through some of the most stressful times of our life time, and with this many of us are trying to cope with the anxiety that comes with it. It’s easy to throw ourselves into work and family life to deal with the stress, but sometimes that isn’t enough. We’ve found some simple breathing exercise you can do anywhere to help alleviate stress and anxiety. You can do them for a couple of minutes a day and immediately notice a sense of peace and relaxation.

Box (4x4 Breathing)

  • Slowly inhale for 4 counts
  • Hold for 4 counts
  • Slowly exhale for 4 counts
  • Hold for 4 counts
  • Repeat

 Breathing While Walking

  • Breathe in for 5 steps
  • Breathe out for 5 steps
  • Repeat for as long as you want/can
  • You can also up it to 6 counts if you find 5 steps too easy

3-4-5 Breathing

  • Slowly inhale for 3 counts
  • Hold for 4 counts
  • Slowly exhale for 5 counts
  • Repeat
